We have been advised by our solicitor that members should be cautious in their choice of words when expressing their sentiments on the forum and in the press. One member at least has already received a veiled threat of action.
We should remember that the laws of free speech only allow us to go so far in criticizing what we consider negligence, dereliction of duty and unreasonable and possibly illegal behaviour by unscrupulous companies, groups and individuals.
Because of the paucity of accurate and meaningful information supplied to us, we are forced at times to make deductions and suppositions to support a point, but we should be careful to identify them as such.
Please note that this caution is in no way intended to suppress comment by members in the forum or in the press. On the contrary, the HPA committee is doing everything in its power to alert officials and the public to the danger that this nefarious scheme, if allowed to go ahead, could deprive millions of their pension rights by inducing them to voluntarily accept lower pensions, something they may bitterly regret after a decade of inflation at post-Brexit rates. All members are free to do likewise.
