Sorry John,

I do not understand what ticking boxes A to whatever means.  Can you please elucidate for such an illiterate?

This is a demo poll for voting for X (in this case up to 3) out of Y (in this case 5 options). This is the type of poll that would be used if there are more nominations for the committee than the maximum number of positions. You can tick (ie vote for) the candidates you prefer.
