Dear All,
I was contacted by the Pensions Team last year and informed that there had been an error in calculating accrual rates for HPS members who had joined before 1st March 2001 who were under the age of 25 at the time of joining. I am one such individual, and the error means my benefits are now about 7% lower than I had been previously advised.
I am trying work out what to do next. I have been mis-advised by the Pensions Team for at least 12 years on the value of my pension.
Have any other members of the group been affected in the same way? And is there any advice that can be offered in terms of taking redress? I've planned my overall pension package factoring in the HPS component that I now find significantly reduced.
Thanks, Rob Deakin
You are not alone. I think this discussion (http://www.halcrowpensioners.org.uk/forum/index.php?topic=105.0) is about the same subject.
