Title: Capita Cyber Attack
Post by: ericc on July 18, 2023, 05:23:57 PM
Anyone else had a letter from Capita sying that the HPS2 members personal data was on the affected server, with the offer of a one year free subscription to Experian? The list of information that might have got into the wrong hands is pretty scary to say the least!

Perhaps this should be moved to the HPS2 members only section, or somewhere not open to non members?

I too have received the letter from Capita stating that my data was on the compromised server. I have registered with Experian protect as suggested for one year at no cost. I am obviously concerned. If any one can suggest a better course of action I would be pleased to hear it.

Just to point out, Capita don't hold data for those not yet receiving pensions.
There is an information notice on the Jacobs pension site.

I'd recommend also looking into signing up to ClearScore too. It's free and uses another credit reference agency, Equifax. There is a website and iPhone and Android app (not optimised for tablets). You get a regular credit report so can spot any unusual credit searches etc.

I do not want to register with Experion either - note I am already receiving my pension. I just want to be safe and not have to worry, just like ericc above. If data was stolen shouldn't the holder of the data track experion
